Help your child build strong reading skills with the NYC Reads Initiative Science of Reading Program. This free series of virtual workshops is designed for parents and caregivers. You will learn how children learn to read and how to support literacy at home in simple, practical ways. First, we explain the science of reading in clear language. You will understand what skills matter and why they matter. Then, we show you how to practice at home. Each session shares easy exercises you can use with your child to build confidence and progress. You will also connect with other families who care about literacy. Learning together makes the work easier and more motivating. Workshops are held online on Tuesdays from 6 PM to 7 PM. We are planning family book parties with free books provided by our partners at Brooklyn Book Bodega. More details coming soon. Register today!
